How a Xeriscape Project Works
1. Site walk and consultation. We look at sun exposure, drainage, soil depth, deer pressure, and what is already thriving on your property. What survives now tells us more than any catalog. All estimates are free.
2. Design. You get a planting plan, hardscape plan, and irrigation zone map before anything is dug. Every design is planned to your taste and your budget.
3. Installation. Bed preparation and soil amendment, hardscape and edging, irrigation conversion, planting, and mulch, installed by the same family-led crew from start to finish. Josh Bretz runs the field team and is on site every day.
4. Establishment handoff. New xeriscape plantings still need water through their first season. We hand you a simple month-by-month watering taper written for your specific plants, so the landscape roots in properly and then lets go of the hose. This is the step most installers skip, and it is the reason so many xeriscapes fail in year one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will a xeriscape look bare or like a gravel lot? No. Fullness comes from layered planting rather than turf. A finished xeriscape usually reads fuller than a lawn because it has three or four heights of material instead of one, plus seasonal color from natives like salvia and esperanza.
How much can I save on water? Outdoor irrigation is the largest swing factor in a Central Texas summer water bill. Your savings depend on how much turf you convert and how inefficient your current system is. We can give you a realistic estimate against your actual usage during the consultation.
